A visit to Thun is not complete without a visit to this major landmark. Learn about the history of Switzerland from the days of warring Cantons all the way up to modern times.

The Thun Castle exhibtion is an extraordinary look into the history of Switzerland dating all the way back as far as the 1200's. It is a uniquely preserved testimony to the historical arcitecture and is a Swiss Cultural asset of national significance. While touring five floors, visitors encounter the medievel history of the town and castle. From its towers, this arcitechtual jewel offers unparalleled 360-degree views of the mountains, town and lake. A great activity to do on a rest day from hiking!

  • 1st April to 31st October: Daily from 10am to 5pm
  • 1st November to 31st January: Sundays Only from 1pm to 4 pm.
    • Exceptionally, between December 25th and January 8th, every day from 1pm to 4 pm
