Eat with us
The Centre has a dining hall that can seat up to 100 people in one sitting and a kitchen equipped to cook for a maximum of 300 guests per meal. All groups staying with us can choose some or all of their meals to be catered by the Centre.
Meals are served in the Chalet dining hall, and you can eat with us regardless of your accommodation type. The meals are 'canteen' style, with a set main dish and a starter or a dessert.
From September to June, breakfast is served from 07:30 to 9:00, except Sundays, when it's from 08:30 to 09:30. In July and August, breakfast is open from 07:00 to 09:00.
Lunch is served at 12:00 and dinner at 18:00, and we ask all of our guests to be on time for the meals they booked. During busy summer weeks, in July and August, a seating time might be assigned to your group, for which you are expected to arrive on time.
Please be aware that once the mealtime has passed, the Dining Hall will be closed, and if you arrive after this time, no further service will be available. As described in the booking conditions, non-attendance of meals will result in the meal being charged in full on your bill.
We operate on a 'first come, first served' basis, so please request your catering as soon as possible after paying the prepayment to avoid disappointment. Meal bookings often fill up months in advance. Groups of 20+ need to book meals at least 14 days in advance. Smaller groups can make an enquiry up to 7 days before arrival but we recommend to do it earlier.
KISC must be notified of meal and food product cancellations at least 24 hours in advance for groups of 10 or smaller, and 7 days for groups bigger than 10, otherwise your group will still be charged for them. The reasons for your cancellation will be taken into consideration.
The price list of our meals is stated further below, with an adult being from 17+ years old, a child from 6 to 16 and an infant from 0 to 5 years old.

Food allergies and special diets
Accommodation for guests with food allergies and special dietary needs
We cater for a wide range of special dietary requirements and offer vegetarian, vegan, pollotarian, pescetarian, and carnitarian options on a daily basis. Regarding halal and kosher diets – we can only offer non-certified halal and kosher options, if this option does not suit your lifestyle, we can recommend our vegetarian menu as an alternative.
We also serve meals to guests with a limited list of food allergens and intolerances: celery, crustacean, dairy, eggs, fish, gluten, lactose, lupin, mustard, mollusc, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soybeans, and sulphite. Our catering team is committed to ensuring the highest standards of food safety are achieved, and makes every attempt to identify ingredients that may cause allergic reactions for those with food allergies. Every effort is made to train our volunteers on the severity of food allergies, and to label items with possible allergen-containing ingredients. However, there is always a risk of cross-contamination. If you have a severe allergy – we highly recommend cooking for yourself in one of our guest kitchens.
Meals at KISC Huts
Heading up to the Alps to spend a night in one of our KISC mountain huts, Ueschinen Hut or Gfellalp Hut? Once you have booked your programme, it is up to you to make sure the meals you book fit with your activities.
You are free to take your own food and ingredients and use the fully equipped kitchens in the huts. Alternatively, you can order a Hut Food Package. The package includes all the ingredients for a hot dinner and breakfast. Fresh ingredients will need to be collected from the Chalet before departing and carried by your group. Please remember you need to cook dinner for the KISC Staff that opens the hut for you. If on a guided activity, this will be your guide for the duration of the activity.
