Citizens of EU/EFTA countries

Citizens of EU/EFTA countries do not need a visa, and the Centre secures the necessary permit.

Citizens of non-EU/EFTA countries

Need a visa to volunteer in Switzerland. The visa process is complicated but we have a very strong chance of success with visa applications.

If you don't have an EU/EFTA passport, you must be younger than 35 years old at the time of your volunteering period. The Centre will arrange the necessary permit for you.

The Centre covers the visa and administration fees applicable in Switzerland with the relevant authorities but does not cover the fees charged by your local embassy in your own country.

Please note that the VISA application process can take up to 3 months.

Citizens of EU/EFTA countries do not need a visa, and the Centre secures the necessary work permit.

Citizens of non-EU/EFTA countries

For citizens of non-EU/EFTA countries who have not been Staff at KISC before, we can apply for a 4-month visa, for 4-month contracts. The applicant needs to be younger than 35 years old for the entire duration of the contract.

For citizens of non-EU/EFTA countries who have been Short Term or Long Term Staff at KISC before, there is a possibility of getting another visa, however, KISC is typically only able to secure 1 or 2 of these visas per year. The applicant must be suitable for the role and fulfil specific requirements set by the Swiss authorities. This will normally require to have spent at least 365 days out of Switzerland since the last Swiss visa ended.

Employment at KISC is dependent on securing the necessary special permission from the Swiss authorities.
