The Centre is located in Kandersteg, a small traditional Swiss village. Kandersteg is in the UNESCO World Heritage alpine region of Jungfrau-Aletsch.
Kandersteg is situated 65 kilometres from Bern, the capital of Switzerland and in the heart of Bernese Alps. The most spoken language in the area is German. But don’t worry, you will be able to also find your way with basic English, French or Italian. You can access the region by air, rail or road.
Kandersteg is a small traditional Swiss village with a population of over 1’200 people.
Kandersteg has a developed infrastructure that includes hotels with restaurants, two grocery shops, a drug store, a doctor’s office, banks with cash machines and a Catholic and a Protestant church. There are also some souvenir and sports shops, a car service garage and other tourism and leisure facilities including a swimming pool, indoor climbing centre, Scout museum and a ski jump and mountain tubing area.
