The World Scout Committee is the executive body or the “board” of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). They are responsible for implementing the resolutions of the World Scout Conference and acting on behalf of the Conference between its meetings every three years. The Committee has panels to ensure that everyone is on the same page and to debate the matters of the Conference. This time, these meetings were hosted by KISC. The Committee approves WOSM’s annual budgets and provides governance oversight to the operations of the World Scout Bureau, including appointing the Secretary-General. It is one of three constitutive bodies of WOSM, alongside the World Scout Conference and the World Scout Bureau. It comprises 12 voting members from different countries elected by the WSC, nine ex-officio non-voting members, and six Youth Advisors selected by the World Scout Youth Forum.
As KISC celebrates its 100th birthday this year, the World Scout Committee contributed a message for the capsule in front of the Chalet. This message has been written by Andy Chapman, Chairperson of the Committee. He verbally delivered the message to the Committee in front of the time capsule.
To join the Centre in its celebrations and daily operations, the members of WOSM joined the Pinkies in some energisers and an International Campfire. During these activities, the Pinkies showed what the centre delivers and has delivered for the past 100 years. And what the World Scout Centre contributes to World Scouting. During the campfire, Committee members and Pinkies shared their Skits and favourite campfire songs to unite all the different nationalities present during the weekend from all over the world.
