After more than 4 years as Director of Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC), Jack Higgins has informed the KISC Committee of his decision to hand over the leadership of the Centre at the end of May 2024.

We're very grateful to Jack for his hard work and dedication leading KISC not only during the extremely difficult time of the pandemic and restarting the operations afterwards, but also throughout 2023 as we celebrated the Centre's Centenary with many wonderful activities and events.

Jack said "After much consideration and reflection, I’ve decided that having led KISC through its largest-ever year celebrating our Centenary, the time has come for me to embark on a new chapter in my life. Kandersteg is an amazing place, and being Director has been a unique privilege. In the coming months, I’ll be working closely with the team to ensure a smooth leadership transition at the end May 2024. To all the staff and volunteers I’ve had the pleasure to meet and work with, I’m truly thankful for all your passion, enthusiasm, and support. You’ve made this the most amazing adventure!"

There's still plenty of time for goodbyes and we will of course be able to recognise Jack's very significant contributions as Director of KISC at our General Assembly in May 2024.

The KISC Committee has started planning the process to recruit Jack's successor and we will be providing more information about this in the near future. Please keep an eye out here for the recruitment pack.
