We are looking for a team of three experienced and creative people to facilitate the planning of our KISC Association Members weekend, in May 2023. Where our members will come together, to celebrate 100 years of Kandersteg International Scout Centre.
These volunteers will be part of the KISC 2023 Programme Development team and will be responsible for the planning and development of the event’s agenda and activities.

  • At least 18 years old. 
  • Able to communicate in a high level of written and spoken English and preferably German.

Essential 

  • Excellent English writing skills 
  • Experience with event planning and management 
  • Ability to create, review and develop networking activities for the Association members and the KISC staff.  
  • Experience  using various communication and project management tools 
  • Ability to meet project deadlines, and manage multiple tasks at the same time 
  • Experience working in an  international team of volunteers 
  • Commitment and ability to volunteer remotely for a long-term period 

Desirable 

  • Relevant work experience or studies in event management  

  • Experience in working for NGOs or charities 

  • National, Regional, and/or  International Scouting experience 

  • Assist in project planning and logistics of the members weekend event 

  • Identify opportunities to increase membership of the KISC Association, through the promotion of the event 

  • Write and develop various activities for the members of the association 

  • Track and record the needed logistics and materials of the event 

  • Complete monitoring and evaluation reports through the provided reporting mechanism  

  • Work with the marketing and communications department to produce regular e-newsletters, circulars, articles, and website content for a specific type of audience. 

  • Ability to work within a multi-international team to ensure proper execution and results in delivery. 

  • Be self-led and take ownership of responsibilities, to ensure professional and efficient task delivery, in a timely manner. 

This volunteering position is supervised by the 2023 Project Director. The event team is part of the wider Programme Development department.
