General Assembly 2014
This Sunday the 15th of June 2014, KISC hosted its biennial General Assembly. Over 100 members from around the world joined us to participate in the weekend that would elect the Committee of KISC for the next two years.
On Saturday evening we held the official opening of the LuxLie room in Kander-Lodge. This room, sponsored by the Scout associations of Luxembourg (LGS) and Liechtenstein, was opened by members of both associations, in an event hosted by the Committee Chairman Thijs Stoffer and the Chairman of the KISC Foundation, Marc Lombard. The opening ceremony, as well as the apero prepared for after the event proved for an enjoyable beginning to the weekend. The evening was then rounded off by an International Evening hosted in front of the chalet where members and Committee joined together to share food, drink and culture from their home countries.
On Sunday morning registration began in Kanderlodge and with it, the General Assembly.
The General Director, Myriam Heidelberger Kaufmann (CH) reflected at the Assembly the increasing numbers of guest overnights over the last two years, continued diversities in the staff team, a reflection of the 90th anniversary jubilee year and the promising outlook for the centre as figures continue to increase.
For election stood seven representatives of National Scout Organisations (NSOs) for six places on the Committee. Similarly, seven individual candidates stood for election to six individual Committee places. The results of this stood as follows:

We offer our thanks to those who stood for election but were not chosen: Thomas Ertlthaler (Pfadfinder und Pfadfinderinnen Österreichs) and Ricardo Simian (IT). We wish to particularly thank Thomas for his work on the Committee thus far.
At the General Assembly there was also the announcement made for our new Programme Director who wil start this autumn. After having given the approvement on Saturday, the Steering Committee confirmed their choice as Lieveke van Vugt (NL). We look forward to the experience and enthusiasm she will bring to the job, and we also take this opportunity to thank Jonathan Morgan for all of his work over the last three years.
With a standing ovation the Assembly offered Marc Lombard (CH) the Honorary Membership for his longterm engagement as Director, Member of the Committee and head of the Foundation board.
The weekend was rounded off with a traditional "scouty" lunch on our campsite with food prepared over open fires and guests to the General Assembly were then invited to a number of open activities hosted by the Pinkies. The weekend was a great success and was only made possible by all who attended. For this, we offer our final thanks to the attendees of General Assembly 2014 for their continued support in keeping the Dream alive.
