From that moment I have been an active Sea Scout. I followed my sea legs by joining the Royal Dutch Navy as an Officer Cadet. I have worked there for ten years. On my departure, I joined the Royal Dutch Navy Officers Reserve Corps, from which I was honourably discharged in 2014, and started my job at the Dutch ING Bank & Insurances. After several years of banking, I drastically changed my career and chose to become first Deputy Director and later Director of the Kandersteg International Scout Centre. I had a great time in Kandersteg and got the opportunity to develop the Centre in several ways. One of the highlights is the birth of the KanderLodge and the constant increase of numbers of Scouts from all over the world visiting the Centre. Having finished those jobs, I felt the need for a new challenge: the World Scout Foundation in Geneva, where I started as Deputy Director at the end of 2010. A challenging job in which I meet a lot of interesting people and travel around the world to reach the WSF goals of contributing to more and better Scouting for more young people worldwide. Next to this role, I am still a Scouting volunteer, because I think it is essential to guide young people on their path discovering the world of Scouting. And why not using my lifetime Scouting experience to contribute in that area, too?

"}]
