Introducing our new Director

It has been a busy Summer at Kandersteg International Scout Centre with thousands of Scouts visiting the World Scout Centre. But it wasn’t only busy for the operational staff. The Selection Committee, on behalf of the KISC Association Committee, has worked really hard on the recruitment of a new Director for our Centre.
Our new Director, Jack Higgins

After an exciting selection process with a wide variety of candidates, a final decision was taken at the extraordinary meeting of the KISC Committee last Sunday (15th September 2019).

We are delighted to announce that Mr. Jack Higgins (pictured above) from the United Kingdom will be starting as KISC’s new Director on 11th November 2019 and taking over from Felipe on 24th November 2019.

Jack was short-term staff in 2010 and long-term staff in different roles at the Centre between 2011 and 2013. In more recent years Jack has been working for Scout Adventures, a network of national Scout Centres in the UK.
Aidan Jones, the Chair of our Association said: “As a former Director of KISC, I know just how important it is to have a deep connection with the Centre and its values. We are delighted with Jack’s appointment as our new Director and we are confident he will truly embody the values of KISC. The whole Committee wishes him the very best of luck in his new role.”

Jack’s response to his appointment as the new Director was:

"I’m thrilled to be returning to Kandersteg International Scout Centre at such an exciting time. It’s an honour and a privilege to be asked to lead the team and I’m looking forward to meeting you all here, at the Permanent Mini Jamboree."

On behalf of the entire KISC family we welcome Jack into his new role and wish him a successful term with plenty of achievements and further development for the Centre.

We kindly ask for you help in sharing this exciting news with your Scout friends and family.
