We are looking for three experienced people to join our reception booking system team, to volunteer remotely and support our 100 years celebration of Kandersteg International Scout Centre. The team will be managing the booking system and facilitating Kander100 reservation requests. We look forward to receiving your application and being part of 100 years of magical history together!

  • Needs to be at least 18 years old.

  • Communicate in a high level of written and spoken English.

Essential

  • Has to be an ex-staff in the programme or/and reception department.

  • Knowledge of reservation software ASSD. 

  • Affinity for customer service and guest contact

  • Computer literacy, proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications

  • Comfortable dealing with large sums of money

  • Willingness to work according to a flexible schedule

  • Ability to meet project deadlines, multitask, and manage multiple tasks at the same time.

  • Ability to work within an international team of volunteers

  • Commitment and ability to work remotely through 2022 and 2023.

Desirable

  • Has experienced the Summer season at KISC before

  • Certification and experience in customer service, administration, and/or management

  • National, regional, or/and international Scouting experience.

  • Communication in German language is highly desirable. 

  • Ability to communicate in any other WOSM language; French, Arabic, Spanish, or/and Russian.

Main tasks

  • Ensure a high quality of Kander100 guest service at all times

  • Work with KISC reservation software on an advanced level

  • Ensure the accuracy of all bookings of Kander100

  • Deal with any and all queries received from the guests, regarding Kander100 event

  • Manage all aspects related to guest bookings (accommodation, catering, programme and other services)

  • Work with KISC 2023 Project Director and the Reception Manager to coordinate the information flow between KISC 2023 teams regarding guest needs

  • Work on balancing the number of guests from each country to fit in the event’s capacity with a transparent and inclusive approach.

  • Use reporting tools and provide reports on the performance of content deliverables

  • Dealing with cross-functional teams to ensure proper execution and results delivery.

  • Develop an ownership approach to ensure an accurate task delivery in a timely and efficient manner

This remote volunteering position is supported and managed by the 2023 Project Director and KISC Reception Manager. The Reception team is part of the wider KISC 2023 team
