On the 15th of September this year, we began a large project on one of our group houses, the Sunneblick. A beautiful old schoolhouse, it was donated to us in 2009 with the generous contribution of Arthur "Frack" Eugster. Frack, with great regret from all here at KISC, passed away last month and the Sunneblick will continue to be a monument to his generous contributions and personal enthusiasm towards KISC.
When complete, the changes will bring a new annex to the building, with improved toilet and shower facilities, a new staircase, accessible within the building and an improved fire escape. Once this is complete, small works on the flooring and corridors will be undertaken.
Currently, the main structure of the building has been completed, with the outer wooden panels still to be completed, the staircase has been built, and a roof has been placed, just in time for winter here in Kandersteg.
Work will continue, with one of the next projects to be undertaken being the installation of heating, and main renovations to the rooms beginning in late January, by our Maintenance Manager, Janus (DK) and a team of Helpers and Staff.
