Polish Scouts at Kisc!12.10.2009
At the end of last week, a group of 27 smiley Polish Scout Leaders arrived here in the heart of the Swiss Alps. The main reason of this trip was a Scout Leader Training Course, but also a high interest in visiting the World Scout Centre and having a little taste of Switzerland.
On their way to Switzerland they had a short stop in Strasbourg, with just enough time to visit the historic centre of the town, the modern subburb with the European Parliament and the European Court of Human Rights, to take a group snapshot, to send a few postcards and to continue the journey in the direction of Kandersteg.
The group, composed of leaders from the IST of the Polish Scout Association, stayed with us for almost a week from 1st to 5th October.
During their stay, they spent most of their time participating in workshops and training session. Their work was orientated around different topics, such as individual development, the condition of the Polish Scout Association in an international environment, new international experience opportunities for Polish Scouts and interpersonal communication in an international environment.
Additionally, they enjoyed the sunny and warm weather and had 2 days out. One day was used for a day trip to Geneva where they had the chance to relax and have a touristy day around. The other one lead them to Our Chalet, when they hiked over the mountain between Kandersteg and Adelboden and once there they visited one of the WAGGGS World Centre.
Of course they also met the Pinkies, chatted away with them and took many pictures around the Centre and the village. On the last day we saw many happy faces jumping on their bus to return to Poland. The course was very successful for all of them and they also had good fun!
They described this experience in Kandersteg as "so fantastic and unique there are not enough words to describe it!"
Come and live your dream!
