Making good use of what Spring has to offer!25.04.2013
One more week has flown by at KISC. We thought that the winter had gone, but then weather reminded us that it is still too early to grab our swim suits and jump in Oeschinen lake.
On Thursday lunch time all the pinkies were outside, enjoying the sunny, warm, nice weather however, the next day surprised us with 10 cm of snow! But, that’s Swiss Spring, full of surprises.
Even though we`ve had unpredictable weather, we can proudly announce that we’ve already welcomed our first guests to the Campsite this year! A group of Dutch people christened our camping area, not put off by sleeping outside at 0 degrees Celsius!
At the moment is pretty quiet at the Chalet, just a few staff and two guests from Australia. This gave us the perfect opportunity to play “hide and seek” (one of the pinkies` favourite games for low seasons).
But that’s still not the highlight of the week. What actually made this week special and unforgettable for many of the staff was the great journey to Burg Rieneck in Germany. Rieneck Castle was built by Ludwig I, Count of Loon, in the year 1151. The castle now serves as a Scouting facility where you can take part in many interesting activities. Our pinkies came back from their visit tired but very enthusiastic about international scouting.
So that’s all folks ;).
