Looking forward to Spring05.03.2013
It is the last week of Winter 2013. The short term staff are packing, house department doing their last round of deep cleaning and accounts closing books. Actually, the centre is busy, all a clear indication of the end of a season and an anticipation of another. The Spring season can be heard calling from far. It is so beautiful to see the sun doing her best to melt the snow away, trying to give way to the green spring grass. Shorties on the other hand are looking forward to the activities planned for there last week at the centre. Top on the agenda being the staff day out which organisers have been sworn to secrecy and so the destination is not known but fun is assured. Indeed the Shorties earned it and rightfully deserve it especially after the busy Winter.
Along with the STS, three LTS will be leaving the KISC too. Among them, Magdalena (CZ) who is the outgoing Guest Services Director, Melanie (UK) the outgoing Assistant Programme Director and Pol (LU) the outgoing Public Relations and Marketing Assistant. We wish them the best in their endevours. They will be replaced by Salla (FI), Dave (AU) and Susan (KE) respectively. Some staff have also been reshuffled where Jack (UK) will be the new Camp Site Manager, Lisa (AU) will be the new Reception Manager, assisted by Laura (UK) and Saki (HK) the Reception Assistant while Javi (ES) will take over the High Adventure Assistant from Dave (AU) who steps up into the shoes of the Assistant Programme Director. Eight new Short term staff are expected to join us this week.
At the same time, the KISC is turning 90 years this year, and what a good reason to contribute to better Scouting for more young people at KISC by registering to be a club 90’s member, that can be done on our website. All donors will be honoured as part of the anniversary project. Many events have been lined up to celebrate this day among them the Supporters Weekend that is scheduled for 19th - 21st April 2013. This is a weekend for all KISC Supporters to come together and discuss on better ways of better marketing the permanent International mini-Jamboree Centre- KISC. Supporters are volunteers and any Scout can join. They need to send an email to express their interest to be a KISC supporter to A3NxQ2hqcGAtYGs@nospam.
