Last week I did not write anything but a lot has happened!
Paul and his crew did a marvelous job in finishing all the walls and ceilings on the 1st Floor. A job that took a lot of hours and many a late night!!
In the meantime during last week some big decisions were taken for example regarding the tiles (floor and walls), the carpets and above all the company that needs to do the plastering. Not only a big job but they also need to start this week on Wednesday!
As allways there are far too many tiles in all sorts, sizes, colours and price classes. It took a little while but we have some nice floor and wall tiles as well as matching carpets.
What else need to be decided? Well, what about the doors in the basement (slightly wider as the ones at home - 140cm)? Which brand of fire alarm system, with or without a bus-system and do we need a door that is permanetly locked and only released when the alarm goes off? When does the company needs to start with building the noice-reduction wall? Do we need an extension of the building permission to allow for a emergency exit bridge at the end of the building (and how much will that cost?)? And last but not least, how will the new locking system be designed?
Besides all the above I have given IKEA the order for the furniture (and that is a lot!) and the order for the kitchen in the staff living room.
Paul is this week busy with fixing the ceiling in the entrance area and toilet area on the ground floor, which is not so easy due to all the pipes and especially the sprinkler pipes.
It will get busy in the Kander-Lodge in the coming weeks as we have started the count-down till the opening and a lot needs to happen!
Keep an eye on this blog!!
