Half the Hands, All the Smiles!01.04.2015
The last weeks were very adventurous and I learned a lot! Last Wednesday we had a really cool staff-day out hike to Gemmipass! We started at the centre and to the gondola up to Sunnbühl. From there we hiked and sledded to the Gemmipass. But unfortunately there was an unexpected turn in the sled run. So I made a really cool stunt (as the others said) and crashed with a stone. After getting up again I took of my right glove and my fear became true. My wrist was a bit “deformed”.
After a snowmobile, gondola and car ride I ended up at the doctor in Kandersteg who took an x-ray picture. It was an unfortunate fracture, so I had to go to the hospital in Frutigen where I had a surgery and got 6 screws and a nice titanium plate in my arm. What a souvenir from KISC! I guess not a lot of Pinkies have such souvenirs from the centre!
Since Thursday I have been working for the programme and reception departments and smile a lot in my new location.
I got some new tasks, that I can manage to do with just my left hand (yes, of course I am right-handed). For example being smile of the week ;-), filing emails, creating welcome boards or selling stuff at the shop. And finally I have to practice my handwriting and typing with my left hand.
I have an amazing time here at KISC with just one hand. So I am really looking forward to 2 more months at this amazing place with those amazing people and (soon) my amazing right hand (which is really useful).
By the way: Pink is an awesome colour to wear, even for boys!
