Cowie Smiling In The Hills With All The Other Cowies26.04.2014
Hey :) I'm from Australia and my name is Cowie!
I love being in the Swiss Alps here at KISC, and not only because there are so many other cowies!
There are so many things that happen here that make me smile: the puns told at mealtimes (see Jesper's blog from last week for a sample), the quite repetitive playing of the song 'Down Under’, and just the great conversations the Pinkies have. These things are everyday occurrences, but over the last week there have been a few things in particular that have made me smile (and laugh) more than usual.
Firstly, we had a really great Easter here at KISC, starting the day off with a staff Easter egg hunt (the best part about this is that we are still finding them days later!). At lunch time a group of us took advantage of the beautiful, clear day and rushed up the Sünnbuel cable car. A fresh layer of snow made everything look perfect and the views were stunning. Equally stunning, and keeping with the Easter theme, Tommy (US) made some beautifully decorated eggs that feature in my picture! :) What more could make you happy than an Easter filled with all these things?!
I love snow! I was so happy when we got the late snow fall. As you may well know, fresh snow is rather tempting and so it also meant the occurrence of a snow war.
Hanging out with Katie (IE) is always going to make you feel happy but this week she had us on the floor laughing when she 'went to feed the cats'. It seems Katie can’t tell the difference between kitty litter and cat food. Katie placed the kitty litter in the cat bowl; but needless to say, at least Von Bon Kitty knew what to do with it. Apparently it was a mistake but everyone knows she isn't fond of cats!
Lastly, the joys of deep cleaning cannot be avoided during Spring. Over the last few days we have been tackling the kitchen. Cleaning the ceiling and the ventilation system means standing on the benches and sitting on steamers which is quite fun. But of course the best thing about deep cleaning the kitchen is that there are so many different sprayers and water fights are a must!
I’m looking forward to the rest of the Spring season, and the countless reasons to smile that will no doubt continue to occur on a daily basis!
