Once again, Ski Week 8 was probably the busiest for our Programme Staff, with more people running activities than on any day of the Summer season!
We needed almost 20 Helpers to make it happen - all of them good friends of the Centre who returned once again to join the staff and give their best and make an unforgetable week for almost 200 Scouts.
At the end of Ski Week 9, and just before February finished, Scouts from all the German speaking countries (among them Poland, Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands etc.) came to KISC for the annual German Speaking Scout Conference! An event that gather International Commissioners and national representatives for a weekend of discussions, workshops and outdoor activities. All the participants left on Sunday full of projects and ideas, after many meetings and workshops.
The Chalet got quiet afterwards, giving some Long Term Staff the opportunity to take a short holiday and the chance to enjoy more days off for everybody. Although it was still snowing those last days we couldn't ignore that the Winter season was almost getting to an end.
Schilthorn was the place used in the James Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" and the one we did chose for our Staff Day Out. In the evening our staff consumed a delicious dinner at Hotel Victoria Ritter in Kandersteg, followed by an evening of live music.
The last day of the season was sunny and beautiful. Just before cleaning their rooms our 11 Short Term Staff constructed a pyramid in front of the Chalet to celebrate the excellent team work done over the last 3 months.
Cheers to the Winter Staff 2009!
