A pink blood in the family21.01.2016
Hey everybody my name is Tom Fella from Germany. If KISC had a speaking hat like the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it would probably say: „What? Another Fella?“ And yes, I am the second Fella from Germany here at the Scout Centre. My brother Yannick has been here as a Winter Shortie in 2014. His Smile of the week blog was published almost exactly two years ago. Like him I completely enjoy my time at KISC. Those who follow the Staff blog will probably know that the Staff members have several reasons to smile here. For me, there are three main reasons why I am mostly in a good mood when you see me somewhere around the Centre.
WARNING: The first two points might be very similar to what makes other Pinkies happy.
The first thing that makes me really happy is the awesome environment that surrounds the Centre. The Alps covered in snow (finally) made it possible for me to go skiing 14 days so far. When I look out of my window I can see an awesome mountain panorama, which doesn’t make me less tired but lets me forget that I have not had enough sleep the last six weeks.
Another point are the amazing people from all over the world I get to know here at Kandersteg. Just in our Shortie-Team we combine people from Israel, USA, Australia, Norway, UK, Denmark, Austria and Germany which makes our time here even more exciting and even more funny.
My last reason that makes me smile might be a little bit unusual but it is…myself. Since I am at KISC there were quite a few situations where I just had to laugh because I acted really stupid (forgetting my scarf everywhere, baking a cake with tons of baking powder which ended in a total mess, making a 360° (yes, it was exactly like that) after slipping on the mopped floor and and and…).
I am very sure that this isn’t my last time at KISC and I know what I will do when I return to this place - smile and laugh until it hurts!
