The Taiwanese girl of the Alps (Not Heidi but Christina)Ni hao! ??! Hello!I am Christina from Taipei, Taiwan, which is the one of biggest islands in the Asia-Pacific and also be called “Formosa”. It seems really far away to Europe (yes! Indeed), yet I have been away from home for one year and two months! Am I missing home? Not really! Because KISC is my second home now!
I have been studying for my master degree in the UK in the past one year. Three months before I finished it, I realised something that can be done only once in a life time. Therefore, I decided not go straight back to home and fulfil my pinkie dream (short-term staff).10.10.2013
It is impossible to describe the life in the KISC with a word or a sentence, the best way is that you come here and experience it! Every day is different here, even though I work in the same area. I always find different things and different thoughts when I am working. 'Work hard and play hard' is the main spirits for me in KISC. I also have opportunities to know more about Switzerland and speak some German with natives, so far, I have learnt to say,"Ja, Ich kann auch Deutsch sprechen".
The Alps, river, sheep and cow make me smile everyday. However, the main reason to make me smile is not just those scenes but the people I have meet in here. Guests come from around the world have visited the Centre, most of the time we have the chance to meet and talk to them. Show my best and my smile to them, let my joy also bring happiness to them. Besides, spending everyday over 15 hours with KISC staff are the most wonderful time in my life (I am the only child at home who always alone. PS. Taiwan does not have one-child policy!). The KISC is an amazing place to build the international friendship! If you see me in the Centre, feel free to talk to me! I can share my smile and also my stories with you.
I smile, because of you! : )
