An Ode to Hemingway
Hi, I am Elin from Sweden and I would like to dedicate this blog post to my very special friend. He has been my constant companion for almost two years now and I know that I can trust him 100 %. Before I get too personal in this matter, here is a rather terrible attempt at a rhyme. It is my way to say thanks for those years that have been and the years that are to come. No matter how old you get my friend, I will never trade you for anyone better and I know that through the coming years we will only grow closer. Ups and downs may come and go, but I will always be by your side. So, here it comes – a poem cordially devoted to my faithful comrade. Thank you.
You have stood by me in wet and dry
I think you have even seen me cry
When I hold you in my hand
I hope I do not scratch you with the sand
Great adventures we both have seen
Where you went, I have been
Some people will never understand my love
I do not mind, I never will thee shove
You came into my life, a bright and sunny day
I remember it as if it were today, even if I don’t recall the way
Rhyming is not my best of features
Some may think it was written by other creatures (?)
I don’t have any other way of saying thanks
Not even when I walk past a bank
It is now time to wrap this up
And tidy up the plate and cup!
For those who read as far as this
I only try to find a way to end. Like now, wiho!
Thank you for the attention and yes, I have named my camera Hemingway.
