Short Term Staff
The Centre is organised into 4 seasons; Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Every 3 months, a group of young people arrive in Kandersteg as strangers; every 3 months, the same group of young people leave as friends.
The Staff system at Kandersteg is special and aims to give all the staff the best possible experience during their time here, whilst looking after more than 11,000 guests a year! The Short Term Staff are vital for the running of the Centre. They are young people who arrive every 3 months with new ideas and new ways of doing things. They are eager to learn and share their culture with others. Being a Short Term member of Staff in KISC is a unique experience. Here you will have the time of your life; growing, learning and having fun! Come to KISC and live the dream!
Of course, at certain times of year, we do look for specific skills. For example, in Winter we need people who can ski or snowboard, in Summer we need people who can climb, and language skills are useful year round! The work can vary from ski guiding to cleaning toilets, serving meals, doing the laundry, cooking hundreds of burgers or selling T-shirts in the Shop and our Staff work in every area!
