ADAM (GB) - Winter 2010
I'm Adam from England. I'm a vegetarian who longboards and makes music on the old style Nintendo Gameboys. My time here will be spent focusing on growing a beard, learning Russian, snowboarding, and trying to form a super duo with Eric and his guitar abilities. If you wish to have a chat, I'll be in Des Alpes.
alex (DE) - Winter 2010
Guten Tag, my name is Alex and I am from Berlin, Germany.
When I was a baby my parents used me to smuggle money from West to East Germany in my diapers. That's how I got the nickname "Susie-big-ass".
I really love skiing here at Kandersteg, and I'm really looking forward to be a master-ski-guide before the end of the season!andrew (au) - Assistant programme director
G´day! Im a vegatarian adrenaline hunter, but crikey! Safety is the most important thing! My favourite food is roast wallaby dipped in kangaroo sauce with a sprinkleing of koala. Don´t knock it till you tried it! My hobbies include tying my kangaroo down, eating rosti and downhill snooker. I've also invented the "goodwalk", that is like Michael Jackson's famous "Moonwalk", but forwards.
anna (US) - winter 2010
Hey! I’m Anna from The States! I am so excited to be a Pinkie at KISC and can’t wait to try all the snow activities they have to offer. The one thing that keeps me connected to my native state of Florida is bananas. I love bananas! Especially banana milk shakes... and bananas and chocolate. The Swiss make great chocolate so I drink hot chocolate everyday to keep my intestines from freezing.
birgitte (dk) - winter 2010
Hej, I´m Birgitte from Denmark.
I have an difficult name to pronounce, so you can call me whatever you want. My rover section is called Tortuga Klan (you know, like the Pirates of the Carribean, but we thought of it first!!), so I´m a pirate, aargh. My uniform looks like a blue Christmas tree and I´m proud of it! I love to chat all day and all night. I can´t stop talking even in my sleep. If I´m chatting on the phone my favorite position in laying on the floor! I hate mushrooms, because they smell bad and the tecture is so ewwwie. I love inside jokes and I can´t wait to fill "the gossip book" with lots of stuff about the other Pinkies!brian (ke) - winter 2010
Hi, I am Brian from Nairobi, Kenya. Currently I am working as Information Technology Assistant with the World Scout Bureau in Geneva, Switzerland. I am spending three weeks at KISC on a working holiday. I wish I could be here for a very long time: wake up every morning surrounded by the wonderful mountains, beautiful snow and the lovely people. Working here is a great experience!
chris (gb) - grounds assistant

Grüssech, I'm the Swiss Catering Supervisor working part-time at the Centre. In the rest of my time I work as a teacher and local politician in the nearby town of Spiez. After all that, when I can find the time, I love to go skiing, climbing and enjoy a nice massage.
Emil (dk) - winter 2010
Goddag, I'm Emil, one of the Danish people in the Short Term Staff. I love snow (including snowangels) and soapbubbles. In my free time I will go skiing the scandinavien way (cross country and telemark). You quite often also find me together with my camera.
emil (DK) - winter 2010
I'm the Danish guy with the very cool initials: B.P. (which stands for Bjerglund Pedersen - my family name!). I love being here at KISC and doing all of the crazy winter activities that it is not possible back in Denmark (skiing woo-hoo!!).
eric (br) - winter 2010
Greetings from Brazil!
I am a small guy with a big heart and an open mind!
I like paprika pringles, blueberry pies, nintendo games, and my favorite Beatle is George Harrison.
The snow here at KISC is so peaceful!!! But watch out for the yellow snow! It might be Willow, Pepper, Bonk or Pickles' pee!hannes (se) - high adventure assistant
Hi I'm Hannes from Sweden. I was thinking of moving to Ireland but they only have 1 IKEA there so I chose Switzerland. On my days off I like nothing better than driving to IKEA in my Volvo and then spending the evening putting all my new IKEA stuff together while listening to ABBA Gold.
When not doing Swedish stuff I'm running the High Adventure Programme and making sure our Guests get a great experience in the mountains. This usually involves looking good and changing my beanie about 3 times a day.
Peace!jenneke (nl) - winter2010
Hey! My name is Jenneke and I am from Holland. I am the tallest pinkie with the smallest feet. I have a crazy accent and it's great when I talk all night or people think I say things like "my head fell off" instead of "my hat fell off!" I have coolest hair on staff! I have awesome snowboard skills. I love to (on purpose!!!) slide off the piste and make beautiful snow angles next to it! I almost got stuck in the ceiling hanging our pinkie-christmas tree upside down! Doegggg :D

In my free time I like translating things from English to German, have conversation involving wild-gesticulation, mimetizing myself with the office furniture and singing along with the radio nostalgic-like Swiss German songs. I also like cheese and I put it on top of everything possible... cheese is never enough!!Olave
Hobby: Searching the sky for Ufos and escaping nalaka's murder attempts.
laura (fi) - winter 2010

I like snowboarding, dance music, sauna and Christmas. Even I´m blond I try to give good picture about my country.
lene (dk) - bookkeeper
I am Lene from Denmark. I am responsible for the bookkeeping at the Centre. I live in Brig-Glis with my two boys and I only come to Kandersteg once a week. I find it very interesting working together with a international staff team. When I am not in Kandersteg I am working for a Ski Company, playing with my kids, doing sports or travelling around the world.
lou (it) - pr & marketing assistant
Hey hey, I am Luisa (but you can call me "Lou") and I come from Sicily, Italy!
Here at the Centre among other things I make sure everybody looks good on pictures and that our website is up to date.
In my free time I like reading, going to the cinema, buying fashion magazines, eating Nutella with a tea spoon straight out of the jar and as a real Italian I enjoy good food, both eating and cooking it. Sometimes I also attempt snowboarding... people think it doesn't work so well but I consider myself the pioneer of a new board technique which involves rolling down the slopes.luath (gb) - reception manager
I'm the blonde Scottish girl who looks after all the lovely guests who come to visit Kisc. You will normally find me in the Reception, making sure everyone has a bed to sleep in and keeping the naughty Programme boys in check! I like all things Swiss and on the very odd occasion I can be found socialising in one of the local hotspots!
magdaléna (cz) - guest services director
Ahoj! I am Magdaléna from Prague, Czech Republic. Being the Guest Services Director, I work to ensure that all the guests enjoy their stay and have wonderful time at KISC. In my free time I love to go skiing and cross-country skiing, hiking, watching movies, reading books or having a nice cup of tea.
mark (nl) - director
I have been in Switzerland for the past nine years. I like to read and go to the cinema and concerts. I am the proud owner of three beautiful full bred Golden Retrievers answering (well most of the time) to the names of Pickles, Bonk and Pepper. If you can not find me in my office I could be anywhere at the Centre or in the Tearoom eating cakes.
michael (de) - maintenance assistant
You can spot him around the Chalet fixing something, organizing the recycling or replacing light bulbs most of the time. In his free time he loves having sandwiches party, watching Legally Blond and trim his mohawk.
nalaka (lk) - house manager
He gets quite upset if you can't pronounce his name correctly (Nakalaka, Nakakalaka or Naka-Man is not correct!) but enjoys keeping everything clean and running laundry. He loves Texan rock, Danish movies and eating oranges with salt and pepper.
paul (gb) - building coordinator
They call me "chief" and I like it. When I am not breaking trees with my thumbs I like to fight lions and some rhinos. I can also make anything out of wood - even toilets and girlfriends.
paul (nl) - programme administration assistant
I am Paul and I come from Zeeland which is a part of the Netherlands. I started here in December’09 as the Programme Admin. Assistant. You will find me in the Reception Area most time with a mug of espresso. During my days off I like to undertake hikes in the mountains, do some cross country skiing and go to the sauna. In the upcoming months I will try to learn downhill skiing and I am still trying to find a local bobsledding team. In the Netherlands I drive around in my ‘72 VW Beetle, perhaps I will drive it one day here to Kandersteg to do some V-dub cruising on the mountain roads.
paul (gb) - winter 2010
Hi I’m Paul from somewhere in the middle of England. Yeah, it would be nice to have some nice Italian accent or even manage to speak Swiss German but hey... some of us just have to play cricket and drink tea! Well I am very excited to be on staff as a pinkie. As a guest this centre has been immensely amazingly superbly good and to spend 3 months here is just a dream! Hopefully I’ll get some skiing in and maybe just maybe, throw some snowballs at some unwary guests.
rahel (ch) - senior house manager
I am Rahel from Switzerland. Normally you find me making sure that everything is clean and nice in the Centre, but there will be also times you will spot me snowboarding, reading books or knitting hats!

salvador (ni) - front office assistant
FROM 24.01.10
samuel (ch) - winter 2010
Hoi zäme.
My Motto is: "Everytime 100% or let it be."
Whenever time allows I go outside for snowboarding, snowshoeing or take some cool pictures. I learned several things up here, for just one example I can't write with my feet on an computer keyboard. For the Swiss German Translation, just put some ch's r's and k's in!tim (gb) - caterer
My name is Tim, alias "Sweet Mango": cook of the stars. After Sting fired me for hiding a bacon sandwich on his acoustic bass I decided to move to Switzerland, pursuing a career as professional boxer. Whilst training for the heavy-weight world championship I enjoy cooking for the Pinkies and making soup with magic flavours. I'm a lot more attractive in person, so don't believe in pictures. I've invented a new sport called "footpan", that is like football but kicking a pan.
tom (ie) - programme director
Hey, I'm Tom from the west of Ireland and I'm the Programme Director. This means that I work in making sure that we provide the best activities and experiences to our guests; whether that is throwing them into crevasses or exciting games around the Centre.
In my free time I like to do things - mainly outdoors and involving mountains!vera (ch) - winter 2010
I'm Vera from Switzerland. I like crazy dancing and eating bread with jam and cheese. Believe it or not, I'm swiss but I am really bad at skiing. That's why I love snowboarding! Im looking forward to having a really great time in Kandersteg! I'm gonna chat all night with my roommates, hang out with the other Pinkies and have fun with all the guests!
