A beginner's introduction to the world of glaciers and the skills you need to negotiate them. No experience needed but good hiking fitness is essential. Leave in the afternoon to catch the gondola to Oeschinensee and hike up to the Fründenhütte (2562 m) - enjoying the awesome scenery and arriving for dinner. On the second day ice axe skills, roping up, crevasse rescue and glacier travel skills are demonstrated and taught, under the instruction of both KISC guides and a Qualifed Swiss Mountain Guide.
Hike back down to KISC via Oeschinensee, arriving late in the afternoon. A great workshop for those interested in learning new skills or exploring the glacier, and it gives to you the opportunity to complete 4 points of the High Adventure Award.
Price includes half board overnight in the Fründenhütte, return ticket for the Oeschinen Gondola, a KISC guide for the duration of the trip and a Qualified Swiss Mountain Guide whilst on the glacier.
Snow and Ice trips are only able to leave KISC on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 5th – August 18th 2016. Please contact us for availability outside of these dates as it may still be possible.
