It was freezing cold during the night, and in the morning when I opened the tent I realised why: 15 cm of fresh snow! That is Kandersteg, full of surprises and challenges. It never left me since. After the World Moot in Kandersteg in 1992 I joined the Committee and being an economist, and one of the local Committee members, I chaired the Steering Committee until 2012. When leaving the Association Committee, I took the Chair of the Kandersteg International Scout Centre Foundation. In Scouting, I am still a member of my old rover group and member of FOSE and the World Scout Foundation. My motivation to serve for so many years on KISC boards comes from seeing so many young and enthusiastic staff from around the world passing through the Centre. It is gratifying to observe them getting empowered and inspired for their lives while dedicating their effort to provide our guest with the best possible KISC experience. Is there a better way to promote Scouting? Along with my fellow Committee and board members, I am working towards the goal to create a sound and sustainable base for the KISC organisation, to serve the Scouting World for a long time to come as the International home of Scouting.

"}]
