This is my first ex-Staff email to you as Operational Director and I am happy to report that preparations for winter are going well and, with the valley and mountains covered in snow, everyone is quite excited about the months ahead.
Next week is the end of the Autumn 2010 season and we will be saying goodbye to the Autumn STS, as well as some LTS. At the same time we will be welcoming ten new STS, from seven different countries, and five new LTS. Keep an eye on the website to see the new and familiar faces appearing on the Staff pages.
Winter training will run right up to Christmas and then we will go straight into a full Ski Week 1 and our New Year celebrations. We are ready for busy, fun times and adventures in the snow!
General Director Appointed
I would like to announce the Committee have appointed a new General Director. There were some good applications and Myriam Heidelberger, from Switzerland, was choosen for the position. Myriam will start in March 2011, final date to be confirmed, and we look forward to welcoming her here at the Centre.
If this is bringing back some good memories or leaving you a little nostalgic , maybe it is time to visit the Centre again. Join us on the ski slopes this winter or return for a longer, more in depth KISC experience. Take a look at these Long Term Staff opportunities:
Ski Week Helpers
We are currently looking for enthusiastic Ex-Staff to help with Winter Week 9. We require Ski Guides, Activity Guides and Helpers to work in Chalet Services. The dates are 19th to 26th of February 2011. For each day worked you are entitled to a free day of accommodation, meals and use of the Centre’s lift passes. See the Ex-Staff area of the website or email Tom for more details.
World Scout Jamboree 2011
Don’t have four months or three years to spend at KISC but are still passionate about the Centre and want to help spread the word??
We are looking for ex-Staff members to represent the Centre in Sweden next summer during the World Scout Jamboree. KISC will have an information stand and may also be running an activity there.
It is a great opportunity for KISC to tell thousands of Scouts and Guides, from all corners of the globe, about this magical place in the Alps. We need enthusiastic ex-Staff to help us take full advantage of the setting and opportunities there and promote the Centre as much as possible.
Interested? Email Lou and tell her the reasons why you would be the best person to represent KISC in Sweden!
That is it from the Centre for now. Keep an eye on the Latest News and Staff Blogs to see what other adventures are happening here and I look forward to receiving all your LTS applications or seeing you here over Winter.
