Iscr VISITS kisc
International Scout Centre Rustavi (ICSR), paid a courtesy call to KISC as a sign of 'brotherhood' between the two Centres. This took place on the 19th July 2013.
The Korean National Assembly visit KISC
Members of the Korean National Assembly paid a courtesy call to Kandersteg International Scout Centre on 19th July 2013. The team included Mr, Lee Jongkul, Mr. Song Kwang Ho and Mr. Kyung Dae Soo, were welcomed to the Centre by the General Director Mrs. Myriam Heidelbeger Kaufmann. Also present was the Guest Services Director, Ms. Salla Päkkilä.
UPPER HUT KITCHEN renovation OPENING reception
Sponsored by the Scouts Australia, the Upperhut Kitchen renovation was officially flaged off on 24th June 2013 by Mr. David Jones, the Chairman of the Scouts Australia Committee. The Ceremony was graced by Thijs Stoffer (NL), the Chairman of the KISC Association, KISC Association Committee Members; Andy Thormet (CH) and Elian Baumann(CH). Myriam Heidelberger (CH), the General Director KISC, Alexandros Loius(GR), the Operational Director KISC, Salla Päkkilä (FI), the Guest Services Director, Susan Otieno (KE) the Public Relations and Marketing Assistant and William Hayes(UK), the Catering Assistant, KISC Staff from Australia, Dave Langron the Assistant Programme Director, Lisa Picking,the Reception Manager, Katelyn Hardy and Zoe Watkins,both Short term Staff Summer 2013 and Dylan Hunt who is an ex-staff in the just ended Spring 2013. The Upperhut kitchen renovation was sponsored to the tune of 5200 Australian Dollars.

On 22nd June 2013, Mr, Abdullah Rashid, the outgoing Asia-Pacific Regional Director presents an appreciaion plaque to KISC in the presence of incoming Regional Director Mr JR C Pangilinan, Thijs Stoffer (NL), the Chairman of the KISC Association, KISC Association Committee Members; Andy Thormet (CH) and Elian Baumann(CH). Myriam Heidelberger (CH), the General Director KISC, Alexandros Loius(GR), the Operational Director KISC, Salla Päkkilä (FI), the Guest Services Director, Susan Otieno (KE) the Public Relations and Marketing Assistant and staff from the Asia -Pacific region. (Australia, Hong-Kong ,Japan, Kiribati,Korea, Papua New Guinea). the plaque was a gift to the Center as an appreciation of the good relationship shared between KISC and the APR Region.

After year of hard work, the International Scout Centre Rustavi (ISCR) was opened on the 22nd of June. KISC was represented by Adrian Jones, a member of the committee. For more information on the Centre, click Here.
Officially 90 Years Old.
Can you imagine 90 years of impacting lives from all over the world? Well that is the story of Kandersteg International Scout Centre where staff and guests alike have had an experience of a lifetime while living the dream. The dream of the founder of Scouting, Robert Baden-Powell. Last week, KISC celebrated its 90th birthday. It was only in order to have a birthday party to mark this well important milestone, where guests, the KISC committee, ex-staff and staff took part in the jubilee weekend from the 24th-26th May.
Murcia Celebrates their Centinary in KISC
Explorer Scouts from Murcia, in Spain, turned 100 this year and as part of their centinary celebrations was visiting KISC! They had a chance of meeting with the KISC Commitee who were at the Centre for their first Annual Meeting. (More Information here)
