Spring kicks off at KISC
Spring kicks off at KISC22.03.2013
It is official that the Spring 2013 season has kicked off! The Winter 2013 staff have departed giving way to 8 pinkies, Amy (NZ), Crispi (ES), Dries (NL), Dylan (AU), Ruairi (IE), Mette (DK), Steven (CA) and Tina (IS), who arrived last week, had their training and graduated into Pinkies! Currently they are learning how to run the centre and at the same time making the staff board, which remains a top secret, which should be out by the end of the week. This week, Ruairi (IE), is our Smile of the week. It was pretty impressive in the voting as Ruairi laughs a lot, everything seems to make him happy, happiness that is infectious, you will find yourself laughing.
Though it may be Spring, It still snows almost everyday, with the selective sun choosing which days to spray her rays. All the same, you will agree with me that KISC is always beautiful regardless of the weather. At the moment few guests are checking in but we remain as Busy. At the end of the week we expect to welcome the KISC Committee, who will be staying with us for the weekend and this will be an opportunity for the staff to interact with them. Next week, Amy, Dries and Jack are set to represent KISC during a Goose Network Seminar in Luxembourg.
As part of our Jubilee Year activities we are joining the village on Easter Sunday in front of the Church for the Egg Tapping with the local musicians and local stores association where Scouts from around the world will challenge the people in Kandersteg while we build funds to help a local project to support Nepal.
Also we are getting ready for our main celebration in May because the Centre was opened officially during that month in 1923 and we are preparing a nice Jubilee Weekend to celebrate the 90 years of living the dream at KISC with B.P.’s dream of a ‘Permanent Mini Jamboree’ has been living day after day, year after year. We are celebrating the 90 years of bringing this dream to life and you can be part of it! Join our Jubilee Weekend!
