SKI WEEK 9
The busiest week of Winter saw about 155 Scouts and Guides Activities and about 100 more on own programme! All guests, mainly from the UK, enjoyed many activities on fresh powder around at Oeschinensee, Adelboden and Laukernalp. Highlight of the week were the Thinking Day celebration at Oeschinensee, which included a flag parade on skis and the final evening with cheese fondue. It was a busy week for all Staff and for the 'army' of Helpers that came back to give a hand with the daily operations. A special thank you to all of them: Rick (NL), Emil (DK), Anne (DK), Katja (FI), Dominic (UK), Jakob (DE), Wyndham (UK), Chris (UK), Chris (MT), Mike (UK), Salla (FI), Lovisa (SE), Vanya (BG), Ritchi (DE), Colm (IE) and Gemma (UK).
Committee and Supporters' weekend
On the first weekend of March, the KISC Committee met in Kandersteg together with all KISC Supporters'. During the weekend the Committee discussed possibilities for implementing the strategy plan for the coming years. The Supporters, from Italy, UK, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands and Portugal, at times also joined by some Pinkies and some Committee members reviewed the promotion work done in the last year and formulated specific PR Plans per country. The weekend passed by work group meetings and brainstorming but there was also the possibility for all Supporters to enjoy some sledding at Oeschinensee and to mingle with Staff and guest during a very colourful International Evening.
After three months of ski guiding, igloo building, cooking, cheese foundue-ing and working around the Centre, Winter has come to an end. All Staff celebrated the end of a good season with a day off in the canton of Wallis, where all Pinkies had a chance to ski and enjoy the hot spring in the town of Leukerbad. Then it was time for hugs and goodbyes, the 10 Winter Short Term Staff departed and not even a day after KISC welcomed new faces. Eight Scouts and Guides coming from Hong Kong, Canada, Brazil, Luxembourg, UK, Sweden, USA and Spain arrived to form the Spring 2011 Short Term Staff crew. Also pretty much at the same time, KISC welcomed Myriam (CH) - General Director and Agnes (NL) - Office Manager, they officially started in pink on March, 1st.
