Michael (DE), our Campsite Manager, is moving aroud all day to get everything ready for some 5,000 Scouts and Guides to come and camp with us this Summer. Together with him is Alex (UK), the Campsite Assistant, checking tents and controlling all the campsite equipment to be sure all our campers will get the time of their life.
TIne (DK), the Shop Manager, is placing many orders to get the Shop stuffed with everything our guests expect to find there, from Victorinox to ice creams (many ice creams!) nothing will be forgotten! in the meantime, Jean (ZA) started his job as High Adventure Assistant by checking all our climbing equipment, the hiking programme for this Summer and even doing some climbing himself (went to the top of Bire just yesterday!).
Adriana (RO) is well into her House Assistant role now and has been involved with all the deep cleaning going on at the Kander-Lodge at the moment. Sang Ho (KR) and Joana (PT) have finished their training and jumped into the kitchen as our new Catering Assistants. Katherine (IE), our new Eco Adventure Assistant, is getting excited with all the preparations for the opening of our alpine hut, Ueschinenhütte, last Sunday. Phil (CA), who was Winter Short Term Staff, is also back with us and has been selected Smile Of The Week after his first week as Reception Assistant!
All our new Long Term Staff has been through general & management training over the last two weeks, learning all about their own departments and different working areas of the Centre. They have also been trained on skills for leading and managing volunteers within an international environment.
Last but not least, we have also welcomed Willow (DE), a puppy brought to the Centre by Chris (Maintenance Assistant). Willow became popular within the Staff and can be seen everyday on our Webcam playing in front of the Chalet with the Pinkies.
Have you been Staff with these guys? Do you have the privilege of being one of their friends, a part of their family, or do you have a crush on them? Then don't doubt and write them a comment on this page.
