PINK DAY 2009
Last saturday, June 27th, the ex-staff of Kandersteg International Scout Centre celebrated Pink Day in all parts of the world, as a way to stay in touch with the Centre and with the good friends we made during our time at KISC.
Ex-staff meetings were organised in United Kingdom (in photo, taken at B-P House in London), Australia, Ireland, Canada, United States and the Netherlands. Many others contacted old friends again through emails, postcards and facebook. Others promoted KISC in their Scout Groups or will do during this Summer at National Events happening countries such as Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Netherlands and England. As an example, a workshop organised by ex-staff Jörg Aubele (DE) during the upcoming BdP German Jamboree will have a small pink roof to celebrate 20 years of the Pinkies!
At the Centre, Pink Day was also a special date for our current staff. We started with a special breakfast served in front of the Chalet. During "Thought For The Day" (our daily meeting) we opened presents sent by our friends from the Eurotransit Network and the Dutch Work Party. In the afternoon we played beach volley on the Campsite, and the day finished with a party + bbq on the Rovergelände (part of the Campsite). Our guest of honor was Hanna Kurkilahti (FI), who was one of those "first" Pinkies of 1989 and decided to come back to KISC for this special occasion.
By the end of the day we could see the many results and all the fun brought during the first Pink Day, there was another idea: to make it better, funnier and bigger next year, in 2010!
Come to KISC and Think Pink!
