Hello and welcome back to yet another late edition of the KISC Latest News!
The Dutch Work Party came back to visit KISC in the last two weeks. As tradition from 1985, this group of Dutch Scouts visit the Centre twice a year to help out with grounds work, chip wood, fix fences, help where needed and bring lots of Dutch enthusiasm and stroopwaffels among the Pinkies. Together with he DWP, but for only one week, we also welcomed back the International Work Party, this year with partipants from UK, Sweden, Italy, Brazil, Germany, USA and Spain.
In between a sunny day and a snowy one - yeah, it did snow in Kandersteg on June 1st! - we also welcomed a special guest, Mr. Arnold Metcalf (in the photo) a English Scout that first visited KISC in 1949 for a International Climbing course. He shared with us some memories of his experience and found his own entry on the course logbook.
After three months of hard work and good fun, we are about to say goodbye to the Spring Short Term Staff. It's only a few days left in fact to the beginning of Summer. In a mix of sadness and excitement we are finishing the preparation for KISC busiest season and we're getting ready for Staff Day Out. On Wednesday all Pinkies will spend a day out having fun, canyoning and celebrating all Spring season's achievements! It would be then only time to make all beds and clean the Staff Room before welcoming 31 STS from around the world.
Busy and excited!
