Committee Weekend & more
It is clear that after 3 weeks of silence you are all wondering what is going on around here in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Well, a lot have been happening in the last weeks here at KISC, including another short snowy moment.
The Centre is enjoying a quiet moment guests-wise and some of our Staff members are taking the chance to enjoy some holidays. However, there is enough for everybody to have intense days of work.
The ground floor renovation as you may know it is keeping us very busy, but also the US Room renovation is still going on. For those who are really not into screw driving and plastering walls, we had the KISC Association Committee and Foundation Board meeting and the Sunneblick official opening... all this on top of normal low season work such as deep cleaning!
The KISC Association Committee and Foundation Board meeting took place here at the Centre on the first week of November. The Committee and the Board discussed and reviewed the strategy, approved the 2010 budget and approved a small change in the statues of the Foundation which will allow us to maintain the tax-free status of the Foundation.
The weekend was clearly full with meetings and sessions but also of good moments, one in particular was the official inauguration of the Sunneblick. At the end of the afternoon invited guests and Committee/Board members gather at the Frack Haus for an apéro around a roaring fire. This was followed by a cozy dinner in the Sunneblick where Arthur Eugster also known as "Frack" was thanked for his generous donation that made the purchase of the Sunneblick possible. Frack now has a room named after him in the Sunneblick and saw a long standing wish come thru when he successfully passed the Key Game and became an "Honorary Pinkie" including a pink T-Shirt and name badge!
Also we recently welcomed a new member of our Long Term Staff team, Magdaléna Zarska (CZ), who is joining us as Deputy Director for Guest Services. She is now finishing her training and getting ready for Winter! Oh yeah... there is the smell of December and snow in the air!
