Andrew (AU) - Assistant Programme Director
G´day! Im a vegatarian adrenaline hunter, but crikey! Safety is the most important thing! My favourite food is roast wallaby dipped in kangaroo sauce with a sprinkleing of koala. Don´t knock it till you tried it! My hobbies include tying my kangaroo down, eating rosti and downhill snooker. I've also invented the "goodwalk", that is like Michael Jackson's famous "Moonwalk", but forwards.
Chris (UK) - Maintenance Assistant
Jack of all trades who thrives off of a challange. Hobbys are working, skiing, running. Enjoys phisical labour: its the best work out you can get and it's productive.
Willow - The dudette
I'm Chris' superdog who actually does all Maintenance work here at the Centre. I certainly put the 'springer' into 'Springer Spaniel.' You can find me running around the village and the mountains waiting for Chris to catch up.
Chris (UK) - Autumn 2009
Hello! I'm here in Kandersteg for some fun and adventure for the next three months! My hobbies include chess and ferret racing.
Conny (NL) - Marketing Manager
I'm Conny from the Netherlands. Together with Lou I am responsible for the website, newsletters, brochures, and a lot of other marketing activities.
I love the wonderful mixture of living in a small Alpine village and working together with the international staff here at KISC.Elena (MX) - Autumn 2009
Hola!! I'm here from Mexico to bring some fun and excitement to KISC. I'm a massive fan of Speedy Gonzalez cartoons and wearing sombreros.
Eliane (CH) - Catering Supervisor
Grüssech, I'm the Swiss Catering Supervisor working part-time at the Centre. In the rest of my time I work as a teacher and local politician in the nearby town of Spiez. After all that, when I can find the time, I love to go skiing, climbing and enjoy a nice massage
Emmy (SE) - Autumn 2009
I'm a strawberry blonde headed Swedish girl from the countryside. I like flatpacks, allen keys, meatballs and all things Swedish. I'm a crazy dancer who enjoys a visit to the local nightclub!
Gidds (UG) - Autumn 2009
I'm a rocking Ugandan who is here for three months to work at KISC. I enjoy living in the mountains and trying to be Swiss. I can't wait till the snow arrives!
Irakqui (DE) - Administration Assistant
I read Socrates. This guy knocked off little Greek boys. What on earth he got to teach me? And Nietzsche, with his theory of eternal recurrence. He said that the life we lived we're gonna live over again the exact same way for eternity. Great. That means I'll have to sit at the Administration desk again. It's not worth it. And Freud , another great pessimist. I was in analysis for years and nothing happened. My poor analyst got so frustrated, the guy finally put in a salad bar. Maybe the poets are right. Maybe love is the only answer.
Jakob (DE) - Autumn 2009
I came to KISC in a car that I got given for free two days before I had to start work. I threw everything I own into it and came to Switzerland. Now that I am here I spend my time sculpting my facial hair and taking cool photos. I get scared at night because I fear the scary white thing may come down the mountain behind the chalet and attack me.
Jens (IE) - Internal Services Director
My name's Jens and I'm the Internal Services Director. In between looking after the Internal Services work (can you figure out what I do?), I try and climb, ski, hike and enjoy the nightlife in Kandersteg. I was STS in Summer 2004, Campsite Manager in 2005 and 2007 Project Director in 2006/07. I come from Dublin in Ireland were I am part of the 47th Dublin (Ballybrack) Scout group.
Kenneth (SG) - Autumn 2009
I'm a champion kayaker from Singapore who one day aspires to work in the Programme Department because they are so coooool.
Lene (DK) - Bookkeeper
I am Lene from Denmark. I am responsible for the bookkeeping at the Centre. I live in Brig-Glis with my two boys and I only come to Kandersteg once a week. I find it very interesting working together with a international staff team. When I am not in Kandersteg I am working for a Ski Company, playing with my kids, doing sports or travelling around the world.
Lou (IT) - pr & Marketing Assistant
Ciao! I'm Luisa and I'm from the beautiful Sicily. Here at KISC I'm a kind of a "Fashion Guru" of the Chalet. When I'm off I like to take a good relaxing bath with Lush products, read girly novels, listen to Indie Music and cook italian dishes. But if I'm the right mood, I might hit the Thun old town for some impulsive high-street shopping, caramel coffee and cherry cake. Yey!
Luath (UK) - Reception Manager
I'm the blonde Scottish girl who looks after all the lovely guests who come to visit Kisc. You will normally find me in the Reception, making sure everyone has a bed to sleep in and keeping the naughty Programme boys in check! I like all things Swiss and on the very odd occasion I can be found socialising in one of the local hotspots!
Magdaléna (CZ) - Guest Services Director
From 01.11.2009
Hi! I am Magdaléna from Prague, Czech Republic. I came to KISC at the beginning of November to work here as the Guest Services Director. In my free time I love hiking, watching movies, reading books or having a nice cup of tea. I also enjoy trying out Swiss things - eating chocolate and cheese and of course cheese fondue. I cannot wait till the snow will come to our valley so I can also go skiing and cross-country skiing.
Maria (ES) - Autumn 2009
I'm Maria, a friendly and happy person (smile always you can!) I like so much the nature and chocolate but I shouldn't eat it! and of course the sunny days )I'm from Spain!)
Mark (NL) - Director
I have been in Switzerland for the past 8 years. I like to read and go to the cinema and concerts. I am the proud owner of three beautiful full bred Golden Retrievers answering (well most of the time) to the names of Pickles, Bonk and Pepper. If you can not find me in my office I could be anywhere at the Centre or in the Tearoom eating cakes.
Pepper - The Puppy
He is very cuddly and playful... and he is absolutely conscious that he is the cutest pet here at the Centre.
Michael (DE) - Grounds Assistant
You can spot him around the campsite driving the tractor or chainsawing something down most of the time. In his free time he loves having sandwiches party, watching Legally Blond and trim his mohawk.
Nalaka (LK) - House Manager
He gets quite upset if you can't pronounce his name correctly (Nakalaka, Nakakalaka or Naka-Man is not correct!) but enjoys keeping everything clean and running laundry . He loves Texan rock, Danish movies and eating oranges with salt and pepper.
Nigel (UK) - Autumn 2009
The very attractive black sling in my photo is there to support my dislocated shoulder, it happened while I was Rock Climbing. Now that I can't climb, I challenge myself to see how many one handed tasks I can do in a day.
Oli (IS) - Autumn 2009
Back home I used to be called the 'Icelandic Shark' but now I'm called the Giant Teddy Bear. I like saunas, fish products and the High Moon Pub!
Paul (UK) - Building Coordinator
They call me "chief" and I like it. When I am not breaking trees with my thumbs I like to fight lions and some rhinos. I can also make anything out of wood - even toilets and girlfriends.
Sofie (DK) - Autumn 2009
Hi! I've travelled all the way from Denmark to be here for three months. My close friends here at KISC call me 'Loud Sophie', but really I am very quiet. I like Baileys Cheesecake, dogs and all things Danish!
Tanzi (DE) - Autumn 2009
Hey, I'm blonde.I love to work outside getting dirty and I have a huge weakness for badly ripped and painted jeans.I think they are cool.
Sometimes I growl at people because I`am jealous about food. But when I`m not working or eating you can probably find me drinking coffee or enjoying the fresh air outside the recycling room.Tim (UK) - Caterer
My name is Tim, alias "Sweet Mango": cook of the stars. After Sting fired me for hiding a bacon sandwich on his acoustic bass I decided to move to Switzerland, pursuing a career as professional boxer. Whilst training for the heavy-weight world championship I enjoy cooking for the Pinkies and making soup with magic flavours. I'm a lot more attractive in person, so don't believe in pictures. I've invented a new sport called "footpan", that is like football but kicking a pan.
Tom (IE) - Programme Director
Hey, I'm Tom from the west of Ireland and I'm the Programme Director. This means that I work in making sure that we provide the best activities and experiences to our guests; whether that is throwing them into crevasses or exciting games around the Centre.
In my free time I like to do things - mainly outdoors and involving mountains!
