I am Alex from the UK. I love Switzerland. On my free time you will find me hunting butterflies and collecting squirrel pictures! 

ANNA (FI) - GUEST SERVICES DIRECTOR (outgoing)
I am Anna from Finland. I enjoy pretty much anything outdoors; hiking, climbing, skiing, sailing, kayaking... you name it!
Most of the time you will see me either behind my desk or running around making sure guests are happy and enjoying their stay. That's my job :)
I also manage the Short Term Staff and ensure that they have the best 3 month possible when they come to KISC as a volunteer.

Hey, I'm Tony from Dublin. At home in Scouts I'm a Rover Leader and deal with Programme Development and work in the Civil Service, so I've gone from working at the desk to needing rock climbing gear for work and it's great!

Hello, I am the Beau. Sometimes they let me cook things here at KISC. On my days off or on my lunch breaks I like to go for a naked run through the village, it's very refreshing at this time of year!

CASPER (CH) - AUTUMN 2008
Hi, my name is Kaspar and I'm one of the few Swiss who knows KISC. I would love to make the Centre better known in the Swiss scout community. In my spare time I like hiking and juggling, so if you see someone around the Centre throwing things up... that's me!

Dia Dhuit!! I'm Caz, a typical blonde from Dublin. When I am not forgetting things or falling over and hurting myself, I like to run around the village looking for a naked Caterer!!

Jack of all trades who thrives off of a challange. Hobbys are working, climbing, running. Enjoys phisical labour: its the best work out you can get and it's productive.

I'm Conny from the Netherlands. Together with Tati I am responsible for the website, newsletters, brochures, and a lot of other marketing activities.
I love the wonderful mixture of living in a small Alpine village and working together with the international staff here at KISC.

KIWI DAN (NZ) - ASSISTANT PROGRAMME DIRECTOR
As the Assistant Programme Director, I am responsible for helping provide an enjoyable and safe programme for all our guests.
In the real world I am a qualified craft baker, but right now I am taking the opportunity to live and work in a place where I can keep all my hobbies satisfied. Skiing, snowboarding, hiking or climbing. Anything outdoors. Kia Kaha

Grüssech, I'm the Swiss Catering Supervisor working part-time at the centre. In the rest of my time I work as a teacher and local politician in the nearby town of Spiez. After all that, when I can find the time, I love to go skiing, climbing and enjoy a nice massage!

Oi, I am Felipe From Brazil. Here I work in Reception, welcoming and helping all our guests. In my free time I like to walk and play on the slack line, skiing, and climbing. If you want I can teach you some Capoeira moves as well!!!

Hi, I'm Gillian and my job here at KISC is to support the staff team with everything and anything to do with ensuring that both staff and guests enjoy their stay here. If I can't fix it, I'll do my best to find someone who will! On my days off you'll find me out for a walk with Snoop or maybe visiting an art gallery in the city... where it's easy to lose track of time and have hours and hours of fun!

Hello! My name is Helga and I am from Sweden. I love chocolate, downhill skiing, my sisters and, of course, Kandersteg.

IRAKQUI (DE) - ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
Servus! I'm the Irakqui from Bavaria and I'm the Admin Assistant at the Centre, which means I'm the guy who's helping out with any problems in the financial or the german speaking section. If the Reception Manager is not available it's also possible to get me on the phone for bookings or on the Reception Counter for Check in's/out's, bills etc. Besides that I love DJ'ing, biking or just relaxing and enjoying the Alps and the atmosphere in Kandersteg!

JENS (IE) - INTERNAL SERVICES DIRECTOR
My name's Jens and I'm the Internal Services Director. In between looking after the Internal Services work (can you figure out what I do?), I try and climb, ski, hike and enjoy the nightlife in Kandersteg. I was STS in Summer 2004, Campsite Manager in 2005 and 2007 Project Director in 2006/07. I come from Dublin in Ireland were I am part of the 47th Dublin (Ballybrack) Scout group.

KATEY (IE) - PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT
Hi, I am Katey from Ireland, I spend my time developing the programme from behind my desk in a cosy office. I love the clear, frosty Autumn mornings and hot coffee. I can't wait for the snow to come again so I can get out and fall off my skis again!

KERSTIN (DE) - PROJECT MANAGER
I love books and making up stories and help KISC to have a great exhibition. If you can tell me the true tale of the Memorial Rock on the campsite you will make my day!

LANKER (SE) - AUTUMN 2008
I'm one of these crazy Swedes who in some way manged to sneak into KISC. My lifestyle is Scouting and I at least TRY to always be prepared. I like everything that is sweet; chocolate, biscuits, cakes and of course girls (in particular Norwegian ones, but where have they gone!?). The usual paddling, biking, hiking and climbing activities are very amusing but I'm just too lazy to do it regularly.

LENE (DK) - BOOK KEEPER
I come to KISC once a week to tell Jens and Irakqui what to do. If they have been good, I bring them some cake as a reward.

Besides that I live in Vallais, with my two sons, and enjoy the mountains.

LOU (IT) - HOUSE MANAGER
Ciao! I'm Luisa and I'm from the beautiful of Sicily. Here at KISC I'm a kind of a "Fashion Guru" of the Chalet, taking care of everything from waxing floors to brushing toilets, rolling sheets or giving orders like "mop fhe floor!" and so on - it depends. When I'm off I like to take a good relaxing bath with Lush products, read girly novels, listen to Indie Music and cook italian dishes. But if I'm the right mood, I might hit the Thun old town for some impulsive high-street shopping, caramel coffee and cherry cake. Yey!

MARK (NL) - DIRECTOR

I have been in Switzerland for the past 8 years working both at the Centre and for the World Scout Bureau. I like to walk with my dogs, read and go to the cinema and concerts. I am the proud owner of four beautiful full bred Golden Retrievers answering (well most of the time) to the names of Laika, Pickles, Bodansky and Bonk.
If you can not find me in my office I could be anywhere at the Centre or in the Tearoom eating cakes!

Hi people! I enjoy working in almost every work area at KISC and spend most of my free time hiking in the nearby hills and also learning rock climbing. Cheers!

Hey everyone and everybody in the whole wide world! I'm one of the new Short Term Staff of 2008. I'm really looking forward to enjoyable time at KISC together with the Short Term, Long Term and Guests, so hopefully I can help create the magic at KISC. MIKE (UK) - GROUNDS ASSISTANT
My name is Mike, and from Liverpool I come. After a long day working in grounds I like to go home and take a shower with my Peppermint shower gel and strawberry shampoo. I finish up with chainsaw oil as deodorant!
When I am not hanging out with my chainsaw I like to have a drink with the boys... or girls... or anyone that is around.

PAUL (UK) - BUILDING COORDINATOR
Paul can make absolutely anything out of wood! He's also quite good at mending windows, tables, bikes, shelves and everything else that we manage to break! Computers aren't his thing though. Shall we tell him that a Web site is nothing to do with spiders?
After several years away from the staff, Paul is back in pink to serve all his talent to build Kanderlodge inside-out - he already built the New Chalet before, so references were not necessary.

Hey, I'm Tom from the west of Ireland and I'm the Programme Director. This means that I work in making sure that we provide the best activities and experiences to our guests; whether that is throwing them into crevasses or exciting games around the Centre.
In my free time I like to do things - mainly outdoors and involving mountains!

Snoop have two very important jobs here at KISC: Gillian's general walking and biking companion; and general entertainment and cuddle provider to staff and guests. Althought he likes to "hang out" with Pickles and the rest of the "Big Blond Gang", he can generally be found wherever Gillian is... after all, she's the boss! His main hobby: chasing cats, of course.
