Eco - Preparation
How can you prepare yourself for an environmental friendly stay at KISC?
- By reading all this info of course!
- By thinking on how you will travel to KISC and back. Are you going to use the train all the way, or are you travelling by car or coach or by plane? To see what impact your method of travel has on the environment you can check here how much CO2 you will release in the environment on your journey
- You can support KISC in achieving our environmental goals by:
- Using public transport or walking as much as possible while staying at KISC.
- Recycle all your rubbish using our many recycling stations.
- Minimise the use of water while staying at KISC. Most showers have push buttons so use them effectively. With one push you can get yourself completely wet, then soap in completely and with the 2nd push you can rinse all the soap off! Or when using the sinks or water points only run the water when you need it.
- Stay on the marked hiking paths, leave the flowers and wild life in peace and Leave No Trace
- Start working towards your Eco Adventure Award from your arrival day - more info here
- Incorporate some Eco Adventure Activities into your programme - they are an essential part of the KISC experience.
- By using some of our Take Home Eco Activities - which you can also do before arriving of course!
