KISC Environmental Policy
"Vision
Kandersteg International Scout Centre will take a leading role in the development towards a more environmentally sustainable society. This will be done by ensuring a minimisation of the environmental impact, a high training standard of the staff on environmental issues and an active promotion of both Environmental Activities and environmental awareness to Guests.
KISC shall at least comply with local and global legislations and recommendations and make every effort to accomplish the points below, following a combination of what is technically possible, economically viable and ecologically motivated."

A Policy alone with beautiful words and impressive statements is not enough and therefore we also have an Environmental Action Plan for the period 2009 - 2014. This document contains many actions in all the different areas of the Centre and we are doing our best to ensure that we complete each one of the actions.

Awards and Badges
Give a focus or theme to your Scout Camp with one of our many badges. Information and resources are available online to help you prepare your group for their KISC awards.
UNGUIDED HIKES
A selection of recommended hike routes in the Kandersteg area which you can lead your Scout Group on. The routes range from half-day strolls to multi-day routes traversing alpine passes.
HIGH ADVENTURE
KISC is surrounded by high mountains and eternal glaciers. Hike over an alpine pass, explore a glacier or challenge yourself at rock climbing.
ECO ADVENTURE
One of the main themes of our Programme the environment is important to all Scouts. We have Guided and Self-Guided Programme as well as the Eco Adventure Room and environmental information around the Centre and Campsite.
