Meringues are yummie!

G’day,

I’m Rodney from Canberra, Australia, and I’m one the Short Term Pinkies (STS) for this Summer.

This week has been pretty busy, with all the STS moving into their departments, where we all got a little bit more training. I’ve been flat out all week learning all there is to learn about climbing, abseiling and having fun with ropes. We also got to go a Hike and Climb Workshop, where we had a great night in the Upper Hut, eating sweet and sour chicken and minestrone, with meringues for dessert. Passing a huge herd of Steinbock under the shadow of Schroarxgratli on the second day of the hike was a real treat. We’ve just started work with our guest groups, and it’s been so much fun.

It’s lunchtime now, so I’d better go down to the mess hall and see what masterpiece Catering has created for us today.
