WSJ Packages 2011 - The Packages
These packages are designed to help those travelling from the far-flung corners of the globe to maximise their time in Europe, while experiencing the magic of the World Scout Centre!
All Packages are made by a combination of your Accommodation, your Catering and your Activities. Packages are not fixed, what means that you decide how do you want your Package! You can add extra days to your stay, have only breakfast with us, chose different activities... just tell us what you want and we will be happy to help you.
You can chose between 2 options of Bedrooms or Camping. Either indoor or outdoors, everybody will be close to groups from other countries, providing you and your Scouts with lots of opportunities to enjoy the international atmosphere at KISC. All guests have access to the Centre's facilities including: campfire places, souvenir shop, postal service, public phones, internet café, laundry, coffe bar, games, discounted tickets for Scouts, bus service to the village, and many more.
The Old Chalet
The Chalet is the main building of the Centre. The Old Chalet is composed mostly by dormitories, much in the same lines as Youth Hostels, with between 2 and 22 beds in each. Most rooms are equipped with tables and chairs, providing a living area. Each bed has blankets and a pillow, but you will need to bring a sleeping bag (or hire sheets for CHF 3 per pair). Most rooms are decorated by a National Scout Organisation or Scout Region.
Kander-Lodge, our newest building, is located opposite the Chalet, with the Kander river running between them. The accommodation is of a higher standard compared to the Chalet. There are 18 twin bedrooms with every two rooms sharing a bathroom; one en-suite twin room; and a room with 6 beds including its own bathroom. Other facilities include a kitchen, dinning space, lounge area, terrace and a fully equipped meeting room.
Our Campsite can accommodate up to 1,200 persons. In July and August we have, on average, around 800 Scouts from 10 different countries camping there. Facilities include drinking water, toilet blocks with showers/hot water, and 5 social shelters. Laundry, and other facilities are available at the Chalet. Firewood, cooking set, tents and more is also available for rent - you can check the full list of equipment available here.
FULL BOARD (CATERING SERVICE)
The Centre has a Catering Service that can provide your Group with 3 meals a day: continental breakfast, lunch and dinner. This way you don‘t have to worry about cooking during your stay, giving you more free time to enjoy the Alps! If you chose a package with Catering then this includes full board during your stay, dinner on your day of arrival, and breakfast and packed lunch on your day of departure.
If you want to cook by yourself, this is also possible. We provide fully equipped kitchens for Groups staying in the Chalet or Kander-Lodge. If your group is camping, you can rent cooking equipment and buy firewood from us to cook in the campsite. The village has two supermarkets to buy food, and you can also place Food Orders with us to get basic supplies such as milk and bread.
Our Programme Office will help you to create an exciting programme for your Group to have the best experience in the Swiss Alps. This can be made by a combination of Activities free of charge and others at an extra cost.
