The Norwegian smile12.02.2016
Heeey, so apparently people have noticed me smiling this week!
Well, I have had lots of reasons to. First of all, I`ve played sports, which I have been told puts a special volleyball-smile on my face. And this week I found some time to go exploring some other cities in Switzerland, which was fantastic. Also, being from Norway I was exited to experience what Nordic day was all about. Nordic day is an annual Nordic skiing competition here in Kandersteg, The sun was shining almost as much as the pinkies were rocking their crazy costumes, and we were not half bad. I would rather say we were half good, getting ranked 11 out of 22 teams.
Other thing that made me smile this week was learning some new tricks on my snowboard, eating dry fish from home, getting to know new people, and (as every week) our beautiful soundings here with the mountains, now covered in fresh powder snow. Not to mention my new family, which is of course the great, funny, positive and awesome staff team- they always make me smile. Workwise this week being in the house department was MopMop. Catering on the other hand was WokWok, so to sum it up this week was basically WoopWoop!
I am so lucky to be a part of this staff team experiencing KISC and the life here in the Alps. Every day I shook my head thinking how I randomly stumbled upon this opportunity, and smile gratefully knowing my application was approved. I now have friends from all over the world, I have adapted new, diverse skills, and will forever be a part of the KISC family. Home is where the heart is, and as scouting will always be in my heart, this place will always be my home.
