The Key to Happiness06.06.2014
Everyone that has been to KISC as Staff knows how important your keys are here. They let you into every secret and not so secret room in the Chalet and all the other buildings. To make sure we never lose these keys, we all attach them to ourselves with more or less exciting key chains. For my return to KISC three weeks ago I brought a very special keychain that a very close friend and fellow scout leader from home made for me. Next to my name it has a quote from B.P. embroidered which is in my opinion the key to happiness. It says: “The most worthwhile thing in the world is to try to put happiness into the lives of others”. It sounds paradox that making others happy, actually makes you happy as well, but it is so true and you can experience this every day here at KISC.
I get to make guests happy, by making sure everything is clean and ready for their arrival or by having a nice chat while checking them in. Most importantly, I try to put happiness into the lives of fellow Pinkies by baking some bread or making nice birthday cards or making them laugh with one of my many math jokes that I like to tell ;) The amazing thing at KISC is that you can rely on everyone else for doing the exact same thing for you and with so much happiness being given out and received there is no way one could stop smiling.
