The hills are alive with the sound of music03.05.2012
I’m very happy to write this blog as I’m now the Smile of the Week! I’m Natalia and I am from Switzerland. People tend to think that I’m home here as I am in my own country but if you once come to KISC, you will see how international this place is and realise that except for the surrounding landscape, it is not more Swiss than it is Swedish or American. Therefore yes, I can help you to know which city to visit or to deal with money and languages, but I probably don’t feel more at home than any other.
Another question that is often asked is: how can you enjoy KISC so much when you mostly clean and cook. And I definitely clean more than anything else. But it IS fun! We apparently just make it fun! One of the most well-known way to do it is to listen to music while doing it! And music is a big part of our life at KISC!
Even if you can’t see it, I am playing the piano on the picture and we have a lot of instruments at KISC ! Most of us can play some guitar, or flute … We even have a didgeridoo and a trumpet (which belongs to our House Manager). You can hear people singing! When you enter the kitchen you have a more than 50% chance of Queen playing over there. Moreover, as soon as a bathroom sounds like a club, we are probably daily cleaning that one. What is also fun, as in the kitchen you can finish your day by a water fight to relax, you can also start a pillow fight while bringing them down into the laundry!
Those are all examples of why I enjoy my KISC life a lot! Now I passed the half way of my season but I am still looking forward to all the events that are coming up! Especially when the flowers start growing outside! I can’t wait having the real summer weather here!
