Smiling for Christmas19.12.2013
Gut Pfad! I’m Agnes from Austria, to be exact I’m from Vienna so although Austria has a fair share of the Alps as well, coming to KISC was quite a change of scenery for me. I arrived one and a half weeks ago as part of the new Winter 2014 Short Term Staff and it already feels like home. Ever since I got here I could not see a single cloud – just bright sunshine and blue sky that go really well with the snow covered mountains all around us. I am very excited to be the first “smile of the week” for this season. I take this seriously and will make sure to keep on smiling for the rest of the season – scout promise! What makes me smile the most are all the wonderful people I’ve met here. With good music, fun jokes, and many hugs every day is wonderful.
These first few days here have also included many adventures. Together with all the other Short Term Staff I had my first real authentic Finnish sauna-experience, tried and failed in building an igloo (the snow is just too powdery), and a great ski day in Adelboden.
One very important thing is also a reason for my smile: CHRISTMAS!!! In less than a week it is time to celebrate my favorite holiday and this year it will definitely be a white Christmas for me. So if you hear someone singing Christmas carols you will probably find me close by. Just join in singing and I promise you will be smiling too!
