Proud of being part of BP’s Dream!28.03.2013
I‘ve had a big smile on my face for the past weeks earning me the smile of the week crown! Yaay! A lot of things in KISC make me smile, for example all the awesome people I have met for the last few weeks and all the new things I‘ve learned. If I would have to point out highlights of the past weeks then I have to say that the staff nights out were rather fun but surprisingly I found cleaning toilets, mopping floors and rinsing coffee mugs a lot of fun as well. It may not sound fun, but it is so easy to make things fun around here at KISC and being able to share these moments with new worldwide friends. I decided to come to KISC because I wanted to try new things, volunteering is among them, highly inspired when I visited KISC a few years ago and I fell in love with not only the place but also the work that the Pinkies do! Having worked in a Scout Centre in Iceland for several years before coming here goes to proove that this is something that I want to do more of. The feeling that I‘m working here as a volunteer, keeping a Founder‘s Dream dream alive and meeting new people from countries all around the world, that are here for the same reason, is undescribable, it is just the best feeling ever! The ultimate reason for my Smile comes from the fact that I was chosen to be a part of the Pink ‘super heroes’ who run KISC while to keeping Baden Powells dream alive!
