Pinks of Summer03.07.2009
It demanded 2 weeks of hard (but fun!) training, but now all the Staff Team is wearing pink and ready to run a World Scout Centre during what promises to be the busiest summer ever at Kandersteg! Once again, we were very lucky to welcome Luc Panissod, Secretary General of WOSM, joining us for Summer Graduation to welcoming our new Short Term Staff to the KISC family.
The In Camp programme is now well settled and guests from Finland, Norway, USA, Sweden, Northern Ireland, England and Ireland have been enjoying the traditional International Evening & BBQ, International Campfire and the newKanderChallenge - in spite of many rainy evenings lately in the Alps!
Our alpine hut at 1,890 mts, the Ueschinenhütte, got its first guests last week. Traditional routes as the Lötschenpass Hike and the Gasterntal have been walked all the way by Scouts once again, and many others had their first experience in rock climbing.
During this week KISC will be welcoming more groups from countries such as Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium and Italy - creating once again that magical atmosphere that makes the Centre famous as the Permanent Mini-Jamboree!
Do not forget to take a look at our new Summer 2009 Staff Gallery, where you will find photos of every single one of our staff members!
Welcome to KISC! Come and live your dreams!
