Looking forward to the jubilee weekend!!22.05.2013
A great deal of the KISC news revolves around the weather. In the interests of diversity, I will replace all weather and season-related words in this article with the word ''socks''.
As socks quickly progresses and socks approaches, more and more guests are coming to enjoy the socks at KISC! This week we have welcomed some of our largest groups to the campsite all socks. The Shorties are enjoying more days working in grounds and campsite, soaking up the socks and occasionally dodging the socks. This week, I was lucky enough to have a day working in programme, where I helped to run activities for a group of German Scouts who needed to escape the bad socks we were experiencing that day!
OK, so that's probably enough about socks, writing that paragraph made my head hurt a little!
There is only one thing that Pinkies enjoy just as much as working at KISC and that is days off at KISC! Last week, two other Shorties and I visited nearby Adelboden to stay at Our Chalet: the WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) equivalent of KISC! Our Chalet is very similar to KISC in many ways, being run by volunteers of our sister organisation, and also being situated in a picturesque Swiss valley. During our time there, we were able to enjoy local walks to a rather spectacular nearby waterfall, as well as a wood-carvers' cottage and shop. Adelboden is a great place for outdoor activities, and I can definitely recommend a trip to Our Chalet with any trip to KISC!
Now to the week ahead... let's hope for some fantastic socks as KISC prepares to celebrate our Jubilee Weekend!
