Language Barriers Don't Stop Me Smiling!27.03.2014
Hello everyone, I am Sumin from Korea! I have been smiling all of this week and I am very proud and pleased to be Smile of the Week.
Before I was a Pinkie, I had never been to Switzerland or any European country. But I really love the Scout movement and I want to learn about Western culture, so now that I am here at KISC as staff I get to experience all about different cultures and meet a lot of people everyday.
Last week, I had a wonderful and perfect time in lovely KISC. I made an amazing potato soup, cleaned all of the Chalet and Kander-Lodge, made beds for guests and the best thing was welcoming the guests and helping with their check-in during my first duty. The most important thing is I can't speak English fluently, so I am always smiling because of the language barrier, and all the other Pinkies and even the guests are saying that I'm good at speaking English. And finally, I did all of it as a Pinkie! It was a super amazing experience.
Now I'm smiling because I love my sweet second home and Switzerland and I am getting used to doing everything. Language is not a problem. The only thing that I love to do is always smile and enjoy KISC.
Thanks for all of it!
