In the past week the Kander-Lodge has slowly seen a transformation.
After closing the last walls on the 1st Floor the open staircase has been mounted on steel H-profile beams and bolted into the concrete, so now it stands 16cm (!!) above the concrete level of the Ground Floor. The company Frutiger started on Wednesday with putting the insulation (2cm) material on the floor of the 1st Floor (see picture - white material on floor) which was a bit more work then anticipated by them :-). So today, Monday, they had to finish the entrance area on the Ground Floor with insulation (8cm) material and protective sheets.
Also today Gaggioli - the heating company - moved in to start connecting all the radiators on the 1st Floor. The pipes will run over the insulation (see picture) and will next week be covered by a 6cm layer of 'cement'. The 1st Floor will not have floor heating but in the bathroom and the area in front of the bathroom the return pipe will run in bends to simulate a kind of floor heating. If it works you will not have cold feet in the bathrooms (in winter)!! The Ground Floor will have a full floor heating system installed.
Also the electricians (Grossen Elektro) are working again resulting in the fact that the main fuse board in the basement is now operational which means the heating system is not longer working via an extension lead!
