KISC- A Pun Place to Visit16.04.2014
My name is Jesper, from Sweden, and I would like to tell you how a day of work can look like and why they make me smile:
First things first! During this season you just want to Spring out of bed every morning, filled with excitement to start. But when you're heading down the stairs in top-most speed you must be ready to break fast, if you want to fuel up with some cereal-killing before our daily morning meeting.
So, what's on the schedule for today?
Maybe it's catering! Here you keep all the staff and guests happy by feeding them. A-peeling tasks such as making the amazing KISC banana-cake for your fellow Pinkies or maybe preparing fondue for the World Scout Bureau. Too cheesy? Lettuce take a look at something else.
The centre also needs to be cleaned, the dirty clothes washed and guests checked into their rooms. You might be a part of the brave crew of House that makes this happen. Just make sure that the manager doesn't catch you sheet-ing while folding the beddings or just watching Scrubs when you're supposed to deep clean the bathrooms, and the whole day will feel like a party. A house party!
You can also be sent to help maintain the facilities. Our Maintenance Manager here always nails it, so you don't have to worry if you screw up from time to time!
You could be teaching a group of guest how to play curling, stacking logs for the campfires in Summer (Wood you like that?), helping out with recycling or giving a guided tour around the chalet!
What I'm trying to say is that every day offers something new, exciting and sometimes challenging. That, and of course working with the most wonderful Pinkies in the world in a place as beautiful as a picture from a postcard, makes me keep my smile up!
